Day 5: Return to Zürich

五日目はイギリス最終日。朝は出勤前のアランにさよならをして、雨の中、きまちゃんと一緒に子供達を幼稚園まで送りにいきました。うちに帰ってきてからは、出発まで台所でお茶を飲みながらおしゃべり。キッチンカウンターの上にちょこんと座り、大人のおしゃべりを聞きながら二枚重ねした「ばかうけ」海苔せんべいを夢中になって頬張っていたルカ。

Day 4: Birmingham

四日目はロンドンを発ち、バーミングハムへ。ちょうどロンドンマラソン当日だったので、混雑を避けるため早朝のバスに乗って祝日ムードのロンドンを通り抜けて電車の駅へ向かう。お昼過ぎにバーミングハムに到着すると、きまちゃん一家とながじが２台の車で待機してくれていた。ナガジは去年の年末、きまちゃん一家とは３年振りの再会！！そして３年前はまだきまちゃんのお腹にいたルカとは初対面でした。

Day 3: Harry Potter Lego / Fish & Chips

三日目は土曜日だったので、一日中ステファノ一家と過ごす。朝食はホットケーキ。きまちゃんによると、イギリスでは「パンケーキ」はクレープのことで、ホットケーキは「アメリカンパンケーキ」って言うそうです。ステファノ宅では、朝おきると「トースト？パンケーキ？」と聞かれます。ホットケーキを食べたい人は、フライパンの横に置いてある自家製ミックスでミニホットケーキを自分で焼いて食べます。それにベルモント州のメープルシロップをかけて。これがとっても美味しかった。これに粗糖とミルクをたっぷり入れたアールグレーティーを飲んで朝食は終了。その後、ピーターとわたしには大仕事が待っていました。

Day 2: Gerhard Richter

ロンドン二日目は南ロンドンから二階建てバス３番に乗って外の景色を楽しみながらリージェントストリートへ。懐かしいエリア。３年前に来たときもこの辺りにあるお店をのぞいたっけ。

Day 1 : Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Oxford

せっかくロンドンに来たのに１日目はいきなり電車に乗ってオックスフォードへ半日行ってきました。オックスフォード大の研究室で働いている大学時代のクラスメートに会いに行く為です。

Flight from Zürich to London Luton by easyJet

From Zürich to London, we flew direct with easyJet. The flight was on time and smooth, and we arrived at London Luton Airport without any problem…. until we realised that the train to London after 10PM does not run directly to London due to the major construction at Blackfriars Station.

Back from UK

We just came back from London to ZRH tonight!! Cannot wait to report all about our trip!! Please stay tuned.

5 Day Trip to London

From tomorrow we will be off to London for 5 days. Visiting friends, eating, shopping, and visiting museums.

Included in my meal plan is:

1. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (US export it to Europe except Switzerland.)
   
   

Uniform

My freelance job at a science research lab ended today. I was initially employed for 2 weeks, but I ended up staying for 4 weeks. This was my first job EVER in uniform, and to be honest with you, I really loved the look! I should have been a researcher instead of a disposable and underpaid interior designer.

Mini Pizza and Ramson Pesto Gnocchi

On Sunday night, P-san cooked dinner for me and our friend Hanna instead of watching “Tatort”. Starting with mini-pizza with original tomatoes sauce, he surprised us with his rare cooking spirit.
