Flying Vegetarian with Swiss

This is a great news for Momo and Jake!!

From May 27th, all Swiss flights will serve vegetarian in-flight meals in all classes from the Hiltl recipes. Hiltl is a popular vegetarian eatery in Switzerland, and we always take our vegetarian family members Bigi, Momo and Jake to this restaurant on their visits.

To my surprise, 40% of business-class passengers in Europe and economy-class passengers on long-haul flights prefer vegetarian. On my next flight back to Japan or to Boston, I should make sure to order vegetarian meal, because the in-flight meal on Swiss are infamous among all my Japanese friends. Speaking of in-flight meal, my favorite airline is Thai Airways. Their curry is heavenly and I never leave anything on the plate. I heard that on Korean Air you can pre-order Bibimbap, which everyone praises about. It’s my dream to eat Bibimbap on the Korean Air someday!! When we flew back to Japan last winter, we were surprised by the choices and taste of bread served on SAS. That was great! Peter even had to have many additional pieces of bread per each meal. Lufthansa in-flight meal is average, ANA and JAL usually serve Asian-friendly meals, but I have not used these airlines in a while. When I was accidentally seated in business class on British Airways, I could not believe how AWFUL the meal was. I mean, you don’t except an exceptional meal on flight, but it was worse than the school meal. I regretted not buying a sandwich at Heathlow before taking off.

I wonder which airline serves the best food in the world…
