To celebrate our unofficial anniversary (we started going out on July 1!) we went to a restaurant called Tre Fratelli from the book “Essen Gehn!“. With this book, we get one main menu for free. Although I reserved a table a month in advance, they could not find my name on the reservation book. Before I could get really pissed (which usually turns into a disaster) a wait staff promptly took us to a table deep in the back of the garden. The table was slanted (and you will see how slanted in later photos) but we loved the hide & seek feeling in this beautiful garden nonetheless.
Here is the menu. It’s a combination of illustrations and hand writing put together in a small album. Great idea! We also used this type of album to send our photos (with our portraits, neighborhood, apartment) to Bangkok.
The backyard garden of the restaurant. It reminded me of the restaurants in East Village in summer.
Of course we toasted to our daughter!! We’ll be at the airport to fly to Bangkok around this time next week!! Since Biggi was not around to help me cut my bangs, Peter did it for me this time. Not bad, no?
This picture shows how slanted our table was. I ordered gazpacho and Peter tuna carpaccio for appetizer.
Our main course. Peter ordered black pig’s steak.
These are our desserts. It seems like a chocolate cake is a MUST for Swiss restaurants. Regardless the type of cuisine, there is ALWAYS a chocolate cake on the dessert menu in every restaurant. Peter ordered Panna Cotta with Amaretto.
I hope we can celebrate 9th anniversary with the same smile and joy. Earlier today, a swelling was found in my ovary that can turn into a tumor. I’ve had an ovarian cyst operation before, and I am afraid I might have to go through the same pain again. During dinner, I had to laugh off my thoughts that tumor and I are as inseparable as Peter and I.

I totally remember when you started to be in love with Peter-
You talked about Peter a lot on the phone and I was like “Who is this guy that Nemu can’t stop talking about?????”
Oh, you guys are so cute!!!

I remember I visited you in Boston and talked about Peter all the time. I still have that photo from the visit where we are sitting on a bench. Thanks a lot for listening to my blah blah.

Dear Nemu-chan,
Thank you for eight lovely years so far. For me, you still look as pretty as on the first day. I grew a bit more grey, but I think it gives my face a certain dignity.
I am still optimistic about the swelling, so it won’t become a cyst.
