Leak in the Wall

We are planing to fly out in 3 days and are busy preparing for the trip and having our apartment fixed. We found a water leakage inside the wall between the bathroom and the kid’s room. Before we leave for Thailand, our landlord wanted to finish the repair to prevent a major leak to other apartments during our absence.

One morning, a group of real estate agents, plasterer, plumber, tiler and painter came to our apartment to demolish a part of the wall and to determine the cause of the leak all together. They all agreed that the insurance company should pay for this, so the real estate agent started taking a lot of pictures. I took pictures of every process as well, just in case.

It was great they worked on the damage so fast and now it’s only the matter of covering up the dried wall with a new wallpaper. However, this repair work completely prevented us from setting up the kid’s room. Although we only have a simple IKEA bed and a carpet to place back into the room, I feel horrible not being able to set up the room when we come back from Thailand.

On the other note, I packed one suitcase to bring to Thailand today and it weighs just 20kg! Now I have another one to pack until tomorrow night. We will bring them to the airport by car and check in early. On Wednesday, Peter comes directly from work, and I’ll meet him at the airport with hand luggage.
