Ever since we came back from Germany, L started saying “papapapapapapa” or “manma manma ma-” only when she needed something. Like getting a glass of water or taking off socks. I just thought she was mumbling, but Peter insisted that she is calling us.

My Daughter from Bangkok
November 28, 2009 · 2 Comments
The first part of my essay “バンコクからきた私の娘 (My Daughter from Bangkok)” has been published in a Japanese magazine called “Iwato.” It’s published by my friend Taro’s mom who owns a Theatre Iwato in downtown Tokyo. This seasonal publication by the theater does not limit the content for theater related articles only and instead has an interesting choice of authors from a Rakugo master to an organic chef, and I am honored to be invited in the new issue.

A few days after Momo and Jake left Zürich, it was our turn to cross the border – this time, we went to Peter’s hometown to visit his family and friends. It was L’s first time to see her auntie Karin and her family. Here are some photos from our long weekend in Germany.

Jake has arrived!!
November 2, 2009 · 7 Comments
Jake arrived in Zürich one hour earlier than expected. When we saw the arrival time on Internet, Momo, L and I hurried to the airport as fast as we could. Of course L wanted to stop and look around all the time, and she sometimes walked back the way she came.
